MINI Releases Limited ‘1 To 6’ Special Edition
MINI has just announced another limited edition ‘1 To 6’ model to celebrate the brands manual transmission JCW. The model will be limited to just 999 units worldwide of this stick shifting hatch. The 1 to 6 celebrates the 1 through 6 gears you will be rowing through while driving one of these manual JCW’s around the town. As with any special or limited edition model that MINI releases, this car comes with tons of special badges, markings and design elements that are specific to this limited model. The model will be available for purchase in September in Europe, USA, Canada, and Mexico with pricing to be announced closer to that time. Visitors of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring on May 20, 2023 will get an early peak at this limited edition car as a modified version will be seen out on the course
To start, this car is covered in all piano black accents on the door handles, gas cap, grill surround, head light and tail light trim and belt line. This blacked out vibe gives it a real menacing, almost darth vader look.
Center Stripe
While up front we cant help but notice a rarely seen and wide center stripe that runs from the front of the hood, over the roof and back to the bumper. Upon closer inspection of this stripe, you can see it is made up of the shift pattern repeated over and over. A nice subtle touch that shows how much effort and detail went into this car. The center stripe also carries across the sunroof where the ‘One of 999’ slogan can be seen while looking up through the glass. This shift pattern can also be seen as a small badge on the back left of the bonnet.
Wild Wheels
18-inch Circuit Spoke rims in Jet Black wheels can be seen to match the rest of the piano black accents all over the car. With those giant red JCW calipers and floating center cap with limited edition ‘1 TO 6’ behind the JCW surfboard, these wheels are sure to pop amongst the MINI Cooper crowd.
Interior Touches
The interior contains the usual design touches on most of the limited and special edition models. Opening the door you will be greeted on the sill to the ‘1 TO 6’ badging. From the driver seat you will see the ‘One of 999’ peaking out from behind the steering wheel. One the lower spoke of the Napa leather steering wheel itself you will see the ‘1 TO 6’ badge repeated. Looking to the passenger dash you will see another mention of the ‘1 TO 6’ embossed right into it. Looking down on the floor mats will show another small flash of the badge. Most importantly though, looking down a bit from the center infotainment system, you will see the 1 to 6 shift pattern on the manual transmission stick. A pattern, that as mentioned above, is repeated on the stripe and bonnet.
Extra Touches
A few other small touches really make this limited edition ‘1 TO 6’ MINI Cooper JCW stand out amongst the cars and coffee or race crowds. The key fob is a custom 3D printed fob cover and backing plate covered with the badging and not seen on any models besides this one. The C-Pillar and side scuttle indicators also come with the limited ‘1 TO 6’ badging. On the bonnet, is the shift pattern badge mimicking the stick shift cap. Custom floating center caps on those piano black wheels will surely wow all your friends. One can’t help but wonder if maybe they would even do a special welcome light with the custom badging to celebrate this special 6-speed before they all go extinct!
