Next Generation MINI Cooper & MINI Countryman E Officially Launched

Introducing the 4th Generation Electric MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman: A New Era of Sustainable Driving

The future of MINI driving has arrived with the highly anticipated launch of the 4th Generation Electric MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman. These latest additions to the iconic MINI lineup mark a significant leap towards sustainable mobility and innovation in the automotive industry.

The 4th Generation Electric MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman represent a bold step forward in the evolution of electric vehicles, combining the timeless style and exhilarating driving experience that MINI is renowned for with cutting-edge electric technology. These new models exemplify MINI's commitment to eco-conscious driving without compromising on performance or design.

MINI Cooper E & SE

First let’s start off with the specs on the MINI Cooper E. The Cooper E base model comes with a 40 Kilowatt-hour battery which will see the range jump from the current model to around 240 miles of range. This will be a single motor, front-wheel drive unit that outputs 181 horsepower. The MINI Cooper SE will see a jump in both battery size and horsepower. The SE variant will come with a larger 54 kilowatt-hour battery pack and 215 horsepower single motor driving the front wheels. Sales will begin in Europe in the summer of 2024 and eventually land in the US a few years later due to embargos and tarrifs. Pricing is set to start around $37,800.

A JCW version is in the works and undergoing testing. Could we see the first All-4 Cooper with a dual motor JCW? Time will tell when we see the official launch coming in the near future.

MINI Countryman E

The MINI Countryman also gets a fully electric makeover with an E and SE model and bother are built on the same platform that the BMW iX1 is. The MINI Countryman E gets a 54 Kilowatt-hour battery (probably the same one as the MINI Cooper SE?) which will provide enough juice to power it’s 188 horsepower single motor. The Countryman SE will get a larger 64 Kilowatt-hour battery pack and two electric motors. One at the front and one at the back with a total horsepower output of 308. Range is set to be 220 for the E and 210 for the S variant. An ICE JCW variant is also expected to drop in the near future as well with some configurators already letting you spec one out. Bad news there though, the power actually decreases 11hp from the current generation.

MINI Cooper and Countryman ICE

Both new MINI Cooper and Countryman models come with Internal Combustion Engine version for those that are not sold on the Electric versions. Looks-wise on the inside and out these cars are nearly identical.

MINI Aceman

While we don’t have any official launch of the upcoming MINI Aceman, the anticipated launch and release are expected later this year. More on that to come.
